Giant Masquerade Masks

We recently made a Parade Float for homecoming and we got put our Styrofoam skills to work. We created the masks by gluing 2 two inch thick styrofoam sheets together. My husband cut them out with a jigsaw. I painted them with primer and the glossy black spray paint(next time I will use flat paint). We then traced on the decorations and painted them with a metallic paint. We then glued on glitter and added peacock feathers. We worked on these with a group of people so they didn't turn out perfect but I still think they looked pretty good.  I figured I'd post these just in case someone needed some ideas for a Halloween party.

Halloween 2008

Kiss Pumpkins

Here are some pictures of my Kiss Pumpkins. I created the stencil myself using Photoshop and some Kiss album covers. They are carved into funkins, that way I don't have to recreate them every year.

Graveyard Photo Shoot - 2007

My child the punk rocker - the shirt says Anarchy in the Pre-K.

Witch's Kitchen

So here is our 2007 Holloween Project. I decided to build a witches kitchen. I was going to dress up as the witch but I figured it would be too scary for the kids. Plus I didn't think it would be to fun sitting on the couch wearing that costume all night.

I wanted to make this a black light set instead of a more realistic look. Eventually I will add a florecent dungeon wall as a back drop.

Shelf Detail

Night Shots - The shelves are collapsable for easy storage. I cover them in plastic and have a cardboard front that I velcro on. In the black light it's supposed to give the illusion of floating bones.

When I get around to it I'll try to post the Label names and the ingrediants I used in the bottles. The labels I ended up using in these pictures are pure white so that they will show up in a black light. I also have a really cool way to age the labels - I'll post the directions for that too.
